Legaci helps you securely store your important documents and asset information
so that your family can access them when it matters most. Because we handle highly
sensitive personal and financial data, we take your privacy seriously. This policy
explains exactly what we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
1. Information We Collect
We collect only the information you choose to store or provide:
Account Information
- Name, email address, and phone number used to create your account
- Details of family members you designate as beneficiaries
Government Identity Documents
- PAN card details
- Aadhaar number and related information
- Passport details
- Other government-issued identity documents you upload
Financial Asset Information
- Bank account details (account numbers, bank names, branch information)
- Mutual fund holdings, folio numbers, and related details
- Investment and insurance policy information
- Other financial assets and documents you choose to store
Note on Aadhaar: We store Aadhaar information solely for your
personal record-keeping purposes. We do not use Aadhaar data for authentication
or verification, and we do not share it with any third party.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To securely store your documents and asset details on your behalf
- To allow you to share selected information with designated family members
- To send you account-related notifications (e.g. access alerts)
- To maintain, secure, and improve the Legaci service
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal or financial
information to any third party. We do not use your data for advertising.
3. Data Storage and Third-Party Services
Your data is stored on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure located in India
(where available) and may be replicated to other Google data centres as part
of their standard redundancy practices.

Google Cloud Firestore — stores structured data such as
account details, asset metadata, and beneficiary information.

Google Cloud Storage (GCS) — stores uploaded document
files (e.g. scanned copies of identity and financial documents).
Google Cloud Platform is bound by its own
Data Processing Addendum
and does not access or use your data for its own purposes.
4. Data Security
Given the sensitive nature of the information stored in Legaci, we apply
the following protections:
- All data is encrypted in transit using TLS
- Data at rest is encrypted by Google Cloud Platform
- Access to your data is restricted to your account and the family members
you explicitly authorise
- Authentication is required for all account access
No system is 100% secure. If you suspect unauthorised access to your account,

5. Who Can Access Your Data
- You — full access to everything you have stored
- Designated family members — access only to the documents
and assets you have explicitly shared with them
- Legaci team — limited administrative access for the
purpose of maintaining and securing the service; we do not read your
document contents unless required to resolve a support issue with your consent
6. Data Retention
Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete
your account, your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days, except
where retention is required by applicable law.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access and download all data you have stored in Legaci
- Correct or update inaccurate information
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Withdraw consent for data processing (which will result in account deletion)

8. International Users
Legaci is designed for users in India. If you access Legaci from outside India,
your data will still be processed and stored as described in this policy.
By using the service from abroad, you consent to your data being transferred
to and processed in India and on Google Cloud infrastructure.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will
update the effective date above and notify you via email or an in-app notice.
Continued use of Legaci after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance
of the updated policy.
